At Clinton State School, our committed and well-resourced Physical Education faculty use current curriculum documents to inform teaching and ensure that students have access to a wide range of Physical Education and extra-curricular sporting opportunities. Clinton State School recognises that participation in sport and physical activity plays a significant role in the development of a child’s life. Soccer, Rugby League, Touch Football, AFL, Netball, Volleyball, Cricket, Basketball, Hockey, Tennis, Athletics and Skipping are a few of the many sports and activities that we offer here at Clinton State School either through the HPE curriculum or as extra-curricular opportunities.

We actively encourage all students to participate in a range of age-appropriate physical activities whether it is curriculum-based sports or extra-curricular sporting opportunities. Students are given the opportunity to participate in both school-based sporting teams and also selection processes that facilitates participation in Representative sports (Port Curtis School Sport, Capricornia School Sport and Queensland School Sport). Our extra-curricular sporting teams compete in after-school competitions and/or gala days against local schools.

With all the sporting opportunities students at Clinton State School are given, it allows for students to participate either individually or as a team in a safe and friendly environment. Our students who travel to partake in inter-school competitions are given the chance to build friendships and further develop their sporting skills. These events give students a deep feeling of accomplishment and pride when competing in Clinton colours representing their school.
